Bishwo Shahitto Kendro (BSK) is engaged in creating enlightened, effective and committed visionary individuals having high moral values and organizing themselves into enriching the heart and soul of the nation. Keeping this objective in mind BSK for the last 35 years has taken and executed numerous enhancement programs, the biggest of which is Nationwide Enhancement Program. Currently, about 1.2 million students of the ten thousand educational institutions of the country are enrolled in this program. BSK is relentlessly working to spread the cultivation of knowledge and enrichment of life in each and every corner of the country. To enhance the reading habit by reading good books, BSK is regularly undertaking new and creative programs. “Alor Pathshala” (School of Enlightenment) - the online book reading program is one of them. To make this online book reading campaign more accessible to the mass, a mobile application, ‘Alor Pathshala’ has been developed.
From February 21, 2015, everybody will be able to download online books easily and read them. This mobile app will be available for download at alorpathshala.org and Grameenphone App Store (wap.gpstore.co) for free. Grameenphone customers will be able to download this app from GP Store for free.
Now the general people will have easy access to the beautiful world of Bangla literature. One can read the books offline once they are downloaded.
This initiative is supported by Grameenphone as part of their “Internet for All” campaign. Grameenphone believes that to make internet more accessible to general people it should have more local information and content. This Alor Pathshala e-library and mobile app will represent the Bangla literature and world literature in digital format.
Alor Pathshala mobile app is accessible to any internet connected tab and android mobile phone. Very soon iOS and windows phone users will be able to use it as well.
